About Daniel Garcia Ordaz
Daniel García Ordaz is an American poet and the founder of the Rio Grande Valley International Poetry Festival and a Pushcart Prize nominee. His writing centers on the creative power of language. García is a teacher at La Joya Early College High School. His poems have appeared in numerous literary journals, academic collections, and anthologies. He was born in Houston in 1971 and raised in Mission, Texas. García is also a song-writer and former newspaper journalist. He appears in the documentary, ALTAR: Cruzando fronteras/Building bridges about the late Gloria E. Anzaldúa.
